A new swim on a growing and ambitious calendar of marathon swims organised by Another Level organiser, Tim Garrett. Other events include the Palm Beach-Shelly Beach swim over 27km on March 28.

These swims cater to the growing interest in marathon swimming, which is defined by the Marathon Swimming Federation (MSF) as over distances of 10km or more. The 5km event running in parallel is included as a middle distance stepping stone from more conventional swim distances to the marathon level. These swims run along courses along Bate Bay in Sydney's Sutherland Shire, starting and finishing at South Cronulla beach. The 10km event heads out from the beach past Cronulla Point, rounds Shark Island, then tracks along the beach almost to Boat Harbour, then returns. The 5km course runs up to Wanda and return, also rounding Shark Island, but on return.

These swims are not for everyone. Entry is through this site only. No late entries will be accepted. Best to read the details on the event website carefully before throwing your eager hand into the air.
